Emulsion is a festival celebrating new music and improvisation. Curated by saxophonist/composer Trish Clowes (BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist) and composer Luke Styles (Glyndebourne Young Composer in Residence), Emulsion programs improvised and contemporary classical music alongside each other. For this special 2-night event, ECM artists Food: saxophonist Iain Ballamy and drummer Thomas Strønen will headline. Also performing are Clowes’ Tangent, Styles’ Ensemble Amorpha, Juice and Dan Nicholls’ Strobes+ByramArt.
Expect unusual programming, interesting use of space, fun and joy in experimentation.
The festival will be dotted with collaborations and premieres of work supported by the PRS for Music Foundation and is supported by Arts Council England. The Emulsion development scheme for the core Emulsion artists is supported by the Jerwood Charitable Foundation.
